Veteran forward Larry Nance Jr. is heading back to Cleveland after finalizing a deal to rejoin the Cavaliers, per NBA insider Marc Stein.

The Akron native, who previously spent four seasons with the franchise from 2018 to 2021, returns to a team that just finished with the Eastern Conference’s best record at 64-18.

Nance, 32, spent the 2024–25 season with the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 8.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists over 24 games while shooting a career-best 44.7% from beyond the arc.

Stein reported on Tuesday that the Nance was pursued for more than a year, but trade attempts were consistently rejected by the Hawks’ former front office.

Now on a new deal, Nance provides Cleveland with frontcourt depth behind Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, offering switchable defense, passing ability, and experience in the postseason.

In his last stint with the Cavs, Nance played 189 regular season games and posted career-high marks in rebounds (8.2 per game in 2018-19) and assists (3.2 per game in the same season).

Originally drafted 27th overall in 2015 by the Lakers, Nance has averaged 7.7 points and 6.1 rebounds across ten NBA seasons with the Lakers, Cavaliers, Pelicans, Trail Blazers, and Hawks.
