Kobe Bryant’s All-Star Game farewell took the spotlight away from Russell Westbrook, as he claimed back-to-back MVP titles, helping the Western Conference to a record-high 196-173 success over their Eastern counterparts, but the Minnesota Timberwolves need to grab some plaudits for dominating the proceedings away from the game itself.

The Timberwolves’ Zach LaVine grabbed MVP honours as Team USA edged Team World 157-154 in the Rising Stars game. LaVine’s 30 points guided the States to victory.
