The NBA announced that it has fined Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards $35,000 for his actions during Thursday’s game against the Lakers.

According to the official release, Edwards was penalized for failing to leave the court promptly after being ejected for his second technical foul and for throwing the ball into the stands.

This latest fine adds to a growing list of disciplinary actions against Edwards, bringing his total fines for the season to $320,000 across six separate incidents.

Edwards and Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt received double technicals in the first quarter after a brief physical altercation.

Later, in the third quarter, Edwards was assessed his second technical for arguing a no-call with the referees, leading to an automatic ejection.

His two technical fouls in the game raised his season total to 16, triggering an automatic one-game suspension, which he served during Minnesota’s loss to Utah on Friday.

The absence of Edwards, combined with injuries to Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle, left the Timberwolves short-handed, missing three key starters.

Moving forward, Edwards faces additional consequences, as every two technical fouls he accrues for the rest of the season will result in another one-game suspension.

With the Timberwolves currently sitting at 32-28 – just one game away from the top six in the Western Conference but only three and a half games from falling out of the play-in tournament – his availability will be crucial to the team’s postseason push.
