Haliburton’s double-double leads Pacers past short-handed Clippers

Tyrese Haliburton delivered a dominant performance with 29 points and 12 assists, propelling the Indiana Pacers to a 129-111 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

Haliburton took over in the third quarter, scoring 17 of his points as the Pacers built an 18-point lead. The All-Star guard shot 9-of-14 from the field and connected on four three-pointers.

Indiana, which holds the NBA’s best record in 2025 at 16-5, saw seven players reach double figures. Myles Turner, returning from a three-game absence, contributed 17 first-half points.

The Clippers struggled without leading scorer Norman Powell and former Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard. Powell, who averages 24.2 points per game, missed the contest due to left knee soreness, while Leonard remained sidelined with a left foot injury.

James Harden tried to keep Los Angeles in the game, finishing with 31 points and 11 assists. The veteran guard shot 9-of-17 and made six three-pointers. Ivica Zubac added 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting.

Indiana capitalized on the Clippers’ depleted roster, outscoring them 35-28 in the third quarter while shooting 65% from the field. Haliburton fueled the surge, drilling three consecutive three-pointers to push the Pacers ahead 90-69.

Aaron Nesmith added a season-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while Pascal Siakam contributed 12 points and 12 rebounds. Turner’s presence in the paint helped Indiana control the glass, finishing with a 46-32 rebounding edge.

The Pacers shot 54.8% overall and 92.6% from the free-throw line. They also recorded 31 assists, showcasing their offensive rhythm.

Los Angeles struggled with its perimeter shooting, going just 10-of-40 from beyond the arc. Without Powell and Leonard, the Clippers lacked consistent scoring options outside of Harden and Zubac.

Amir Coffey chipped in 14 points for Los Angeles, while bench guard Bogdan Bogdanović contributed 11 points. The Clippers finished with 23 assists but committed 10 turnovers.

With the win, Indiana improved to 32-23 and solidified its hold on fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Clippers, now 31-25 and sixth in the Western Conference, will look to regroup as they await the return of their injured stars.
