Celtics edge Clippers in overtime thriller

The Boston Celtics secured a hard-fought 117-113 overtime victory against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. Jaylen Brown led the way with 25 points, while Jayson Tatum added 24 as the defending champions improved their record to 31-13.

Despite missing key players Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, Boston saw significant contributions from Derrick White, who scored 20 points, and Sam Hauser, who tied his season-high with 15 points, including five 3-pointers. The win came after a spirited fourth-quarter rally that carried into the extra period.

For the Clippers, Derrick Jones Jr. delivered a career-high 29 points, with 17 coming in the first quarter. Kevin Porter Jr. added a season-best 26, and Amir Coffey chipped in 24. Los Angeles was without Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Norman Powell, and Ivica Zubac, yet their younger players stepped up in the absence of their stars.

Boston opened the extra period with three consecutive 3-pointers from White, Tatum, and Brown, giving them a lead they would not relinquish.

Neemias Queta sealed the win for the Celtics with a key bucket in the final moments after Coffey had cut the deficit to two with a three-point play. The loss dropped the Clippers to 24-19, with their playoff hopes relying on a return to full strength.

Boston rallied from a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter by scoring 13 unanswered points, highlighted by two 3-pointers from White and one from Tatum.
