DeRozan, Sabonis combine for 58 points as Kings rally past Warriors

The Sacramento Kings overcame an 18-point deficit to secure a 123-117 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis led the charge, combining for 58 points in the thrilling contest.

DeRozan scored 32 points, including 19 in a pivotal third quarter where Sacramento outscored Golden State 37-20 to erase their deficit. Sabonis added 26 points and dominated the glass with 18 rebounds, providing the Kings with a strong interior presence.

Malik Monk contributed 20 points and nine assists, while De’Aaron Fox chipped in with 14 points, including crucial free throws during the final stretch. Sacramento excelled at the line, converting 30 of their 32 free-throw attempts.

Andrew Wiggins paced the Warriors with 25 points, and Buddy Hield added 17. Stephen Curry tallied a double-double with 14 points and 12 assists but struggled to find his usual rhythm, shooting 6-of-11 from the field.

The Kings capitalized on their defensive intensity and fast-break opportunities, outscoring Golden State 28-0 in transition points. Sacramento also clamped down in the second half, holding the Warriors to 32 points across the final two quarters.

Golden State started strong, hitting 14-of-26 shots from beyond the arc in the first half. However, the Warriors couldn’t maintain that efficiency in the second half, finishing with a 45.8% clip from deep. The absence of Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga due to injuries further limited Golden State’s ability to counter Sacramento’s adjustments.

The victory marked Sacramento’s seventh consecutive win at home and extended their overall winning streak to three games. Under interim head coach Doug Christie, the Kings have gone 10-2, solidifying their position in the playoff race with a 23-20 record.

Golden State, now 21-22, continues to struggle with consistency on the road. The Warriors will look to bounce back in their next game, but the health of key players like Green remains a pressing concern.
