The Dallas Mavericks have reportedly made Daniel Gafford available in trade discussions, according to Christian Clark of The Athletic. The Mavericks are looking to acquire an impact perimeter defender to address roster needs as they aim to strengthen their postseason aspirations.

Gafford, who was acquired by Dallas at last season’s trade deadline, is currently in the second year of a three-year, $40 million contract. He has been a solid contributor off the bench this season, averaging 11.7 points, six rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 20 minutes per game.

Despite his productive play, the Mavericks are actively seeking defensive reinforcements. They rank seventh in the Western Conference with a 23-19 record, struggling to replicate the form that led them to the NBA Finals last season.

Dallas has reportedly been in contact with rival teams about potential trade opportunities. Front-office sources have indicated that Gafford’s name has been included in these conversations as a trade piece to acquire the desired defensive upgrade.
