Baskonia has announced the signing of Croatian forward Luka Samanic, who joins the Spanish club after a stint with Cibona. The 2.08-meter tall player brings NBA experience to the team, having previously played with the Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs.
Samanic, 24, has spent the last two seasons in the NBA, where he showcased his skills with the Spurs and Jazz. Prior to his NBA career, he also played in the NBA G League for the Westchester Knicks and Maine Celtics.
After his time in the United States, Samanic returned to Europe, where he played for Cibona. His performance with the Croatian club earned him a move to Baskonia, where he is expected to bolster their interior rotation.
Baskonia, currently sitting 14th in the EuroLeague standings with an 8-10 record, hopes that Samanic’s presence will improve their interior game and provide depth in the frontcourt.
