Kyrie Irving scored 25 points, and Luka Doncic delivered his 78th career triple-double to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a commanding 137-101 victory over the Washington Wizards on Thursday.
The Mavericks extended their winning streak to six games while the Wizards tied a franchise record with their 16th straight loss.
Doncic tallied 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, joining Wilt Chamberlain and James Harden in a tie for seventh place on the all-time triple-double list.
The Mavericks moved to 15-8 on the season, showcasing their offensive firepower by shooting 52.6% from beyond the arc with 20 made three-pointers.
The Mavericks built their lead early, hitting 11 of their first 16 attempts from deep, including timely contributions from Spencer Dinwiddie and Klay Thompson.
The Wizards, now 2-18 on the season, struggled offensively without key players Kyle Kuzma and Corey Kispert, both sidelined due to injuries. Malcolm Brogdon led Washington with 16 points, while Marvin Bagley III added 16 points and eight rebounds. However, the team’s 39.4% shooting from the field was no match for Dallas’ balanced scoring attack.
On a night when Dallas’ depth shined, Dinwiddie added 12 points off the bench, and Jaden Hardy chipped in with an efficient 13 points in just six minutes. The Mavericks’ defense also held Washington’s top scorers, Jordan Poole and Bilal Coulibaly, to a combined 15 points on 4-of-24 shooting.
