The Beko BBL is now at the half-way mark and Germany’s big three rule the roost at the top of the standings.

Brose Baskets are top of the pile after hammering Telekom Baskets Bonn 109-72 in Bamberg. After a high-scoring first quarter, which the hosts edged 33-29, they then pulled clear in the second period, taking a 64-44 cushion at the break, eventually posting an impressive win.

Nicolo Melli paced Bamberg with 20 points.

Bayern Munich are now level on points with ALBA Berlin in the race for second, as Bayern comfortably saw-off ratiopharm Ulm 101-85, while ALBA stumbled en route to a 90-80 defeat to Ludwigsburg, who are in sixth position.

Staying with the top teams in the Beko BBL and EWE Baskets Oldenburg eased to a 103-72 home win over struggling Tubingen. Alemen Prepelic led all scorers with 23 points.

Frankfurt Skyliners were deserved 72-56 victors at Crailsheim. Jordan Callahan led the way with 17 points for Frankfurt as they held the hosts to just nine points in the first quarter, coasting their way onwards to the win.

Phoenix Hagen are just outside the playoff picture but are level with ratiopharm Ulm, who occupy that final spot, Phoenix Hagen were 85-72 winners at home to Braunschweig.

Elsewhere around the German league, Bremerhaven secured a narrow 73-71 win over Bayreuth, second from bottom Goettingen grabbed a vital 91-86 victory at home to the Giessen 46ers, which proved to be bad news from basement side MBC, who lost 87-76 to playoff placed Wurzburg.
