Kawhi Leonard appeared in 68 games last season, his highest total in seven years, which underscores his importance to the Los Angeles Clippers’ success moving forward, especially after the team lost Paul George in free agency.
The Clippers will need Leonard in the lineup as much as possible to stay competitive in a tough Western Conference.
While Leonard hopes for a similar workload this season, he emphasized that his main focus extends beyond just playing every game.
“I strive to get a championship and I’m not out there to try to [solely] play 82 games,” Leonard said.
“I’m trying to win, even though [playing as much as I can] that’s obligated for me. I try to. But it hasn’t worked out [the last two postseasons], so we’ll see.”
