During the Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA Media Day ahead of the 2024-25 season, Damian Lillard responded to questions about recent rumors involving rapper GloRilla and her apparent interest in him.
“That is hilarious,” Lillard said when asked about the speculation. “I keep my personal life personal, you know? I let it be that. I respect her as an artist.”
The exchange followed social media posts by GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods. Earlier in the year, the rapper shared a photo of herself with Lillard from the NBA All-Star game, captioning it (h/t Complex), “Who n**** dis is? Cause I want him #GetEmGlo.” The post quickly gained attention, leading to rumors about a possible romantic connection between the two.
Lillard, who is also known for his rap career under the name Dame D.O.L.L.A., made it clear that there was no personal relationship beyond mutual respect as artists. “We know each other. She’s an artist; I’m an artist, but as far as anything else, it ain’t nothin’ goin’ on,” Lillard added.
GloRilla’s social media posts didn’t stop at just expressing her interest. She followed up by stating that she wasn’t intimidated if Lillard had a partner. “Whoever she is can’t whoop me so I really dgaf (don’t give a f***),” she wrote. However, the rapper later deleted the posts after they garnered widespread attention.
The posts from GloRilla also came at a time when Lillard was going through a divorce with his ex-wife, Kay’La. Their separation, which was publicly documented earlier in 2024, fueled further speculation about Lillard’s personal life. However, he has consistently refrained from discussing his private matters in the media.
