Pelicans add Jamal Cain on two-way deal

The New Orleans Pelicans have signed free agent guard Jamal Cain to a two-way deal, as announced by NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

Cain, who went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, initially joined the Miami Heat for the summer league.

He signed a contract with the Heat on July 15, 2022, which was later converted into a two-way deal. This allowed him to split his time between the Miami Heat and their NBA G League affiliate, Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Cain has also appeared in 44 games in the NBA over two seasons, averaging 4.4 points and 2 rebounds in 11.3 minutes per game for the Heat.

He signed another two-way contract with the Heat on August 11, 2023. During his stint in the G League last season, Cain posted impressive numbers, averaging 23.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game in 40.2 minutes.
