NBA reporter Sherwood Strauss questions the WNBA’s decision to have distinct team names, suggesting that using the same names as NBA teams would streamline recognition.

He proposes examples like “W-Pacers” instead of “Fever” to align with the NBA team names, simplifying the learning process for fans.

“The one they should’ve done, and maybe there’s still time to do, that they didn’t do from the outset, is just use the same team names [as NBA teams]. Why force people to learn about the Fever? Why not just have the W-Pacers?”
