Jason Whitlock reacts to Tom Brady acquiring a stake in WNBA team

Football legend and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady has acquired minority stake in the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA, per Yahoo.

Sports columnist Jason Whitlock thinks that the move is a publicity stunt in an attempt to attract interest in the league.

“Here’s the key word here – ‘he acquired.’ They didn’t use the word ‘purchased’ a stake in the team, he acquired,” Whitlock said on Fearless.

“He was given a stake in this WNBA team as part of marketing and promotion of the WNBA. ‘Look, the greatest athlete of all time, the greatest football player of all time he owns a part of the WNBA!’

“You think Tom Brady, as much money as he lost with that Sam Bankman-Fried, you think he’s thrown away some more money in the WNBA, a league that loses money every year?

“They gave him a stake in the WNBA as a publicity stunt. Good luck with that.”
