Stephon Marbury reflects on Isiah Thomas’ support for Hall of Fame induction

Stephon Marbury, the former Knick and NYC basketball legend, opened up about his NBA legacy and Isiah Thomas’ recent endorsement for his induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame during an episode of 7PM in Brooklyn, a Wave Sports + Entertainment Original.

Marbury, in conversation with hosts Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero, shared a heartfelt moment with Thomas, revealing a deeper connection beyond their past differences.

Reflecting on Thomas’ endorsement, Marbury expressed gratitude and recounted a poignant encounter where they reconciled and shared valuable insights about the game.

Marbury remarked, “I tell you like this. So me and Zeke, we had our thing, whatever. I seen Zeke, he lived right behind me. I was driving. He was going in and I was coming in. He pulled over. I pulled over. We both got out of the car. We just looked at each other, we both started crying, we hugged each other and that was it.”

“When I heard him say that on TV, my friend from Hong Kong, he said, I was so shocked when I heard Isaiah Thomas advocating for you to go to the Hall of Fame. He said, ‘oh, you’re definitely going to the Hall of Fame. If that guy said something about you, you guys hate each other!’ I was like ‘No! We don’t hate each other.’ And then I explained to him, he was like, oh, I didn’t know that happened between you two. I said, yeah, I didn’t broadcast that I talked to him and we seen each other and blah, blah, blah,” Marbury said.

The NBA icon highlighted the significance of Thomas’ support, emphasizing their evolving relationship and the mutual respect they now share.
