Stephon Marbury, the former NBA All-Star who made a name for himself in China, recently offered his insights on the potential of James Harden playing in the Chinese basketball league. Harden, who is currently visiting the country, expressed his interest in the idea of playing there at some point in his career.

Marbury, who played in China from 2010 to 2018 and now serves as the head coach of the Beijing Royal Fighters, shared his perspective on the matter.

“It’s always good to see guys from the NBA try China and play. It would be good for basketball to see James play in China. It’s basketball, it’s an opportunity to play,” he told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on Bally Sports.

Despite the intriguing prospect, Marbury also indicated that he doesn’t foresee Harden making the move to China. He expressed his belief that Harden will likely secure another significant contract in the NBA, underscoring the player’s valuable contributions on the court.
