Nikola Jokic: “The whole MVP conversation is getting out of control”

Nikola Jokic, the leading contender for his third MVP award, expressed his thoughts on the MVP race following a stellar performance where he led the Denver Nuggets to victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With a dominant 41-point display against tough defense, Jokic reaffirmed his MVP candidacy, reclaiming the top spot in the Western Conference standings for the Nuggets.

Facing formidable defenders Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid, the Serbian center showcased his offensive prowess, shooting an impressive 16 of 20 from the field while contributing 11 rebounds and seven assists.

In a post-game interview, Jokic addressed the MVP conversation, acknowledging that while he’s playing good basketball, he believes there are other deserving candidates for the prestigious award.

“I think the whole MVP conversation is getting out of control,” he said, per Harrison Wind. “I think I’m playing good basketball…I think a couple guys deserve to have the award.”

This season, Jokic has been nothing short of exceptional, averaging 26.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9 assists per game, solidifying his status as one of the league’s premier talents.
