USA Basketball today announced that the USA Basketball Women’s National Team will play the German Women’s National Team at London’s O2 Arena on July 23, as part of the 2024 USA Basketball Showcase ahead of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

This game adds to a string of big games at the O2 Arena as The USA Men’s National Team play South Sudan and Germany on July 20 and July 22 respectively.

Hosted in partnership between USA Basketball and TEG Sport, the USA Women’s National Team’s matchup with Germany will mark the U.S. women’s first visit to London since winning the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics.

Tickets for the game will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, April 16th at 9am BST at premier.ticketek.co.uk.

“USA Basketball is looking forward to adding our women’s national team to the USA Basketball Showcase in London,” said Jim Tooley, CEO, USA Basketball. “Not only will playing Germany provide a great opportunity for our team, but it will highlight the growth of women’s basketball around the world as we prepare to defend our gold medal in Paris.”

In addition to the United States’ games in London, the Great Britain men’s national team will take on South Sudan on July 18 and the Great Britain women’s national team will take on Germany on July 21.

The USA officially qualified for the Olympic Games 2024 after winning its 11th World title at the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup. The USA women are seeking their eighth straight– and 10th overall – Olympic gold medal.

In total, USA Basketball will be represented by four teams at the Olympic Games 2024, including 5-on-5 men and women and 3×3 men and women. The USA are reigning Olympic champions in 5-on-5 men and women and 3×3 women. The 3×3 men are set to make their Olympic debut next summer. More information about all four USA Basketball teams will be announced at a later date.
