Nuggets rout Hawks to reclaim first seed in West

The Denver Nuggets (54-24) showcased their strength as they routed the Atlanta Hawks (36-42) in a decisive victory that propelled them back into first place in the tightly contested Western Conference playoff race.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the scoring for the defending champions with 24 points. Jamal Murray’s return from injury injected new energy into the Nuggets’ lineup, contributing 16 points and six assists in just 21 minutes of play during the 142-110 win.

Nikola Jokic recorded his 25th triple-double of the season with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, further solidifying his status as an MVP contender. Michael Porter Jr. contributed 20 points, while Reggie Jackson added 18 points off the bench.

With the win, the Nuggets now sit atop the Western Conference standings, edging out the Minnesota Timberwolves by a half-game ahead of their highly anticipated matchup.

Atlanta, already clinched a play-in berth, was led by Clint Capela, who notched a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. De’Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic added 18 points, while Jalen Johnson had 17, and Dejounte Murray had 14 points and 12 assists.
