The Boston Celtics’ approach to managing the playing time of Kristaps Porzingis, who has a history of injuries, proved effective in their game against the Pistons, according to Brian Robb of MassLive.com.

Porzingis returned to action after an 11-day absence due to a hamstring injury. He played only 22 minutes but managed to score 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field while also grabbing eight rebounds.

Porzingis expressed satisfaction with his performance, despite the minutes restriction. He acknowledged the different rhythm of playing in shorter spurts but overall felt positive about being back on the court.

“It felt great,” Porzingis said. “Yeah, just different because I had the minutes restriction. Just different spurts of playing. I barely played in the first and then in the second I had a longer stretch. Something unusual, but other than that it’s always good to be out there.”
