Former NBA player Chance Comanche indicted for murder plot

Former NBA player Chance Comanche, previously with the NBA G-League, faces a murder indictment in Clark County, Nevada, for his alleged involvement in a plot to kill Marayna Rodgers, as reported by Denise Rosch of News 3 Las Vegas.

Comanche, 27, and his ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Sakari Harnden, are charged with murder, kidnapping, and two counts of conspiracy, accused of planning and executing the murder of Rodgers and dumping her body in the desert near Henderson.

Prosecutors allege that the pair conspired to commit the murder while Comanche was in Las Vegas for a basketball game, playing for the Stockton Kings in the NBA G-League.

Text messages between Comanche and Harnden reportedly discussed methods of strangling Rodgers, resembling scenes from movies.

Surveillance footage captured the defendants and the victim at a liquor store on December 6th, followed by a drive to a residential neighborhood, where the crime transpired.

Court documents reveal that Comanche confessed to his involvement in the murder, leading detectives to Rodgers’ body in the desert.

Both Comanche and Harnden are scheduled to appear in court on March 13 to face the charges brought against them.

The shocking indictment marks a tragic turn for Comanche, once a promising basketball talent, now entangled in a serious legal battle with severe consequences.

Comanche, who went undrafted in 2017, has appeared in a single NBA game for the Portland Trail Blazers and spent most of his career in the G League as well as in the American Professional Basketball League with a brief stint in Europe.
