Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle spoke about players needing to raise their overall competitiveness to the level of TJ McConnell after Sunday’s 117-105 road loss vs. the San Antonio Spurs (26 points/2 rebounds/5 assists/3 steals/13-15 FG).

“He was spectacular in this game. In the first quarter we were really struggling, and he got us back into the game. It was a bleak beginning, and he was tremendous. He was great on defense, too. So we gotta take some of his attitude, and make it a part of our collective will as a team. This is a tough period right now, tough road games. This is a team that’s obviously a much different team than we played them early. They just beat Oklahoma, they play extremely hard, it’s a wild building. To overcome that stuff, we just gotta raise our level, our edge, our compete level, everything. It’s quite a test.”
