Luka Doncic’s 38 points not enough as Mavericks fall to 76ers

Luka Doncic’s 38-point effort wasn’t sufficient as the Dallas Mavericks (34-27) fell to the Philadelphia 76ers (35-25) in a hard-fought battle, losing 120-116 on Sunday.

Doncic’s triple-double effort, including 11 rebounds and 10 assists, wasn’t sufficient to secure victory for the Mavericks, who struggled with turnovers throughout the game.

Philadelphia’s Tobias Harris led the charge with 28 points, supported by Tyrese Maxey’s 24-point performance, helping the Sixers secure their second consecutive win without Joel Embiid, who remains sidelined with a knee injury. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 21 points off the bench.

Doncic’s frustration boiled over in the final quarter, earning him his 14th technical foul of the season, inching closer to an automatic one-game suspension.

The Slovenian superstar’s effort was supported by Kyrie Irving (28 points) and Derrick Jones Jr. (21 points).

While Dallas managed to narrow the gap, they ultimately fell short against a determined Sixers squad, unable to contain their balanced scoring attack.
