Vasilije Micic had limited playing time during his rookie season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but his role has expanded since being traded to the Hornets as part of the Gordon Hayward deal.

Micic, a former EuroLeague MVP, has impressed the new head coach, Steve Clifford, with his talent and exceptional awareness and feel for the game, as reported by Eurohoops.

Clifford noted that there is still a learning curve with the team, and Micic’s performance is expected to improve as the offense becomes more organized.

“He’s a talented player,” Clifford said. “His awareness and feel for the game are really exceptional. There’s still newness to us. The more organized we get offensively, the better he’ll play.”

Since his debut with the Hornets, Micic has averaged 9.7 points and 6.0 assists in 22.2 minutes per game, contributing to the team’s 5-1 record during this span.
