Porter Jr. and Jokic propel Nuggets over Trail Blazers

In a commanding performance, the Denver Nuggets (38-19) secured a 127-112 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers (15-40), led by Nikola Jokic’s triple-double and Michael Porter Jr.’s dominant scoring display.

Jokic recorded his 17th triple-double of the season with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 14 assists. Porter Jr. contributed season-high 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Collin Gillespie provided a valuable spark off the bench for Denver, knocking down all four of his 3-point attempts and finishing with 18 points. He was the only player for Denver, apart from Porter Jr. and Jokic, to score in double-digits.

Despite a resilient effort from Portland, fueled by Jerami Grant’s 25 points, Deandre Ayton’s 22 points and 10 rebounds, Anfernee Simons’ 21 points and eight assists, and Dalano Banton’s 14 points off the bench, the Trail Blazers couldn’t overcome Denver’s efficient shooting and dominance on the boards.

The Nuggets’ ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities and control the boards proved crucial in securing the victory over the struggling Trail Blazers.
