Reggie Miller: Tyrese Haliburton could lead Pacers to championship

Indiana Pacers icon Reggie Miller has expressed confidence in the team’s rising star, Tyrese Haliburton, suggesting he has the potential to guide the Pacers to an NBA championship.

“I really do believe that he can carry this team to a championship,” Miller said about Haliburton, per Wheat Hotchkiss of NBA.com.

Miller’s endorsement of Haliburton’s leadership and team-oriented approach underscores the guard’s impact on and off the court, emphasizing his ability to unite teammates towards a common goal.

According to Miller, Haliburton’s selfless play style and focus on collective success mirror that of elite NBA stars like LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, instilling confidence in his teammates and elevating their performance.

“He brings people together,” Miller said. “If you watch Tyrese play, it’s never been about him. It’s been about us. What can we do to win tonight? I think he would be happy with four points and 24 assists and the victory as opposed to a 40-point game in a loss.

“The way his teammates look at him, they look at him like they look at LeBron (James), they look at him like they look at (Nikola) Jokic, they look at him like they look at Giannis (Antetokounmpo). Like we can do anything with this dude out there. And I see that.”

With career-high averages of 21.8 points, 11.7 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game this season, Haliburton has emerged as a cornerstone of the Pacers’ roster, earning his second All-Star selection and a starting position in the Eastern Conference team.
