New Orleans Pelicans’ forward Zion Williamson has been the subject of scrutiny regarding his approach to health and fitness since entering the NBA, with concerns over his weight and injury management.

Teammate CJ McCollum recently addressed questions regarding Williamson’s commitment to winning and his attitude towards personal accolades such us missing this year’s All-Star Game, emphasizing a noticeable shift in the young star’s mindset.

In a conversation with former NBA player Kendrick Perkins on NBA Today, McCollum expressed confidence in Williamson’s dedication to the team’s success, citing his actions and consistent effort as evidence of his commitment.

“I think in past years I wouldn’t have been sure how to answer that on national television, but I think I can say with absolute certainty that his actions have demonstrated that he cares. His actions, the work, the consistency,” McCollum said.

Williamson’s improved availability this season, having played in 44 of the Pelicans’ 55 games, underscores his focus on contributing to the team’s performance on the court.

Despite facing setbacks due to injuries in previous seasons, Williamson’s statistics this year reflect his impact on the court, averaging 22.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.
