Tatum and Porzingis combine for 69 points as Celtics edge Wizards

In a high-scoring showdown, Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis combined for 69 points to propel the Boston Celtics (40-12) to a hard-fought 133-129 victory over the Washington Wizards (9-42) on Friday night.

Tatum led the charge for the Celtics with a 35-point performance. Porzingis proved to be a formidable presence on both ends of the floor, contributing 34 points and 11 rebounds to fuel Boston’s offensive onslaught.

Jrue Holiday contributed 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Jaylen Brown added 18 points and seven rebounds.

Despite the Wizards’ valiant effort, highlighted by Deni Avdija and Corey Kispert’s 24-point outings, Washington fell short, extending their losing streak to five games.

Rookie Bilal Coulibaly added 21 points and eight rebounds, supported by Jordan Poole’s 19 points. Kyle Kuzma and Tyus Jones contributed 17 points each.
