As the Minnesota Timberwolves remains close to the top of the Western Conference, trade rumors swirl around potential point guard upgrades, with Kyle Lowry, Dennis Schroder, and Tyus Jones emerging as prime targets.

According to insights from The Athletic’s John Krawczynski, the Timberwolves are actively exploring options to bolster their backcourt, eyeing seasoned veterans like Lowry and Schroder, along with the possibility of acquiring Jones from the Washington Wizards.

Lowry, a seasoned veteran with championship experience, recently found himself traded from the Miami Heat to the Charlotte Hornets and could be on the move again as the trade deadline approaches.

At 37 years old, Lowry brings a wealth of playoff experience and leadership qualities, making him an intriguing option for teams eyeing postseason success.

Schroder, 30, who joined the Toronto Raptors on a two-year, $25 million contract in the offseason, has provided steady production at the point guard position, averaging 13.6 points, 6.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 30.6 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, Jones, a former Timberwolves player, could make a return to Minnesota. The 27-year-old point guard, who is on an expiring two-year, $29 million contract, averages 12.2 points, 6.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 28.5 minutes per game.
