Hawks outlast Warriors in overtime despite Curry’s 60-point showcase

Stephen Curry’s sensational 60-point performance wasn’t enough for the Golden State Warriors (21-25) as they fell to Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks (22-27) in a thrilling 141-134 overtime clash on Saturday night.

Despite Curry’s season-high 60 points, the Hawks, led by Young’s 35 points, secured the victory in the extra period.

Dejounte Murray’s crucial seven points in an 11-0 run to start overtime proved decisive for Atlanta. Onyeka Okongwu had a career-high 22 points and a season-high 16 rebounds, while Jalen Johnson contributed 21 points.

Curry, showcasing his scoring prowess, finished just two points shy of his career-high of 62. He shot 22 of 38 from the field, including 10 of 23 from beyond the arc, and made all six of his free throws.

The Warriors were hampered by injuries. Dario Saric (illness) missed his second consecutive game, and Andrew Wiggins suffered a left foot injury in the first half. Jonathan Kuminga fouled out with just over a minute left in regulation.
