The Sacramento Kings face a significant setback as neither Domantas Sabonis nor De’Aaron Fox secures a spot in this year’s NBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis, prompting strong criticism from their coach, Mike Brown.
Expressing his discontent, Brown vehemently states, “It’s clear to anyone who watches the NBA and Kings basketball that De’Aaron and Domantas should have been selected for this year’s All-Star game,” as reported by Marc J. Spears of Andscape.
Sabonis, a three-time All-Star, has been a dominant force on the court, boasting averages of 19.9 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists in 35.4 minutes per game this season.
Fox, who earned his first All-Star recognition last year, is in the midst of a career-high season, averaging 27.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 35.6 minutes per game.
Despite their standout contributions, Sabonis and Fox were overlooked for both the starting lineup and the reserves, leading Brown to label this exclusion a “glaring wrongdoing.”
As the Western Conference starters and reserves, including notable names like Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis, are announced, the absence of Kings representation becomes even more conspicuous.
Brown emphasizes the duo’s remarkable performance, stating, “They are playing at an unbelievably elite level, Domantas establishing historic numbers with his double-doubles and De’Aaron setting a new career mark for 3-point field goals.”
