Amid a challenging season, the Golden State Warriors (20-24) remain resolute in retaining their core players, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, who have been instrumental in the team’s four NBA championships.

Despite speculation and trade talks, the Warriors are unwavering in their commitment to keeping Green and Thompson.

According to ESPN insider Brian Windhorst, the Warriors have explicitly expressed no interest in parting ways with Green or Thompson ahead of the upcoming trade deadline. Windhorst suggested that the team might explore trading Chris Paul, on an expiring contract, or Andrew Wiggins, who has faced challenges this season.

Green, a pivotal force in the Warriors’ success, is currently averaging 9.3 points, 6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists in 26.5 minutes per game this season. He is in the first year of a substantial four-year, $100 million contract.

Meanwhile, Thompson has seen a slight dip in his numbers compared to the previous season. The 33-year-old guard is averaging 17.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 30.9 minutes per game. Unlike Green, Thompson did not receive a contract extension and is on an expiring five-year, $190 million deal.
