Saddiq Bey’s last-second dunk lifts Hawks over Raptors

In a nail-biting finish, Saddiq Bey’s emphatic dunk off Trae Young’s miss secured a thrilling 126-125 victory for the Atlanta Hawks (19-27) against the Toronto Raptors (16-30) on Sunday night.

The Raptors, facing their fifth consecutive loss, battled fiercely, but a turnover in the backcourt ultimately led to Bey’s game-winning dunk with just 1.1 seconds remaining.

Bey contributed a season-high 26 points and secured 13 rebounds. Trae Young orchestrated the Hawks’ offense with 30 points and 12 assists. Clint Capela added a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Jalen Johnson also impressed with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Despite missing key contributors in RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and Jakob Poeltl, the Raptors put up a resilient effort.

Jordan Nwora, in his third game with the Raptors since a trade with the Pacers, scored 24 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out six assists off the bench.

Scottie Barnes recorded 24 points and eight assists, while Gary Trent Jr. added 16 points to the team’s effort.

The absence of Hawks guard Dejounte Murray, ruled out with hamstring soreness just before tipoff, did not deter the team.
