In a surprising move, the Milwaukee Bucks parted ways with first-year head coach Adrian Griffin, who took the reins from Mike Budenholzer in the offseason.

With the Bucks boasting a 30-13 record under Griffin’s guidance, ranking second in the Eastern Conference and third in the NBA, former NBA player Jamal Crawford expressed his discontent with the decision.

Crawford voiced his disapproval, highlighting Griffin’s impressive regular-season performance and emphasizing the Bucks’ ultimate goal of postseason success.

“I don’t like it to be honest with you,” Crawford stated. “Just the fact that he interviewed for 14 different coaching jobs. He gets one, they have a better record than they did at this point last year, and let’s be honest; the Bucks aren’t going to be judged on the regular season anyway.”

Crawford further noted Griffin’s limited opportunity to prove himself in the postseason, considering the team’s ultimate objective of reaching the Finals.

“To me that’s disheartening because he took so long to get this opportunity, he gets it, he does well with it. They have the third-best record in the league. Period. And for him to get fired, I don’t like that part of it.”

As the Bucks explore coaching options, talks with former Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers are reportedly underway.
