Kawhi Leonard’s triple-double powers Clippers to victory over Lakers

The Los Angeles Clippers (28-14) emerged victorious, defeating the Lakers (22-23) 127-116, fueled by Kawhi Leonard’s second career triple-double and a standout performance from James Harden.

The Clippers secured their first win against the Lakers in three encounters this season. Leonard’s triple-double included 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, with pivotal plays in the crucial fourth quarter.

Harden contributed 23 points and 10 assists, playing a key role in the Clippers’ third consecutive victory and their 11th win in the last 13 games. Russell Westbrook scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds off the bench against his former team.

D’Angelo Russell led the Lakers with 27 points and 10 assists, while Anthony Davis added 26 points and 12 rebounds. However, LeBron James was sidelined with day-to-day left ankle pain.

Despite Lakers’ attempts to close the gap in the fourth quarter, Leonard orchestrated a 9-0 run with well-timed passes, extending the Clippers’ lead to 119-108. The Lakers, missing James and dealing with injuries, couldn’t mount a comeback against the Clippers’ cohesive performance.
