NBA executives speculate: Pacers poised for another trade

The Indiana Pacers made headlines earlier this week with a significant trade that brought Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors. In exchange, the Pacers sent Kira Lewis Jr., Jordan Nwora, Bruce Brown, and three first-round draft picks to complete the three-team deal.

However, whispers from anonymous NBA executives suggest that the Pacers might not be finished with their roster adjustments leading up to the February 8 trade deadline.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, these executives anticipate more moves from the Pacers in light of the team’s new frontcourt dynamics.

Scotto reported, “Given Indiana’s newfound frontcourt conundrum and the notion outside the organization that Hield would eventually be moved to give Mathurin, Nembhard, and Sheppard more playing time looking ahead, rival executives believe the Pacers could make another trade to bolster their team before the deadline.”

This potential move is seen as a strategic response to the recent acquisition of Siakam, introducing adjustments to optimize playing time for rising talents like Bennedict Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard, and Ben Sheppard. The Pacers’ proactive approach to team development and strategic gameplay is catching the attention of league insiders.
