Paul George’s 38-point masterclass propels Clippers past Thunder

Paul George delivered a season-high 38 points, including 18 in a dominant fourth quarter, guiding the Los Angeles Clippers (26-14) to a 128-117 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder (27-13) on Tuesday night.

Kawhi Leonard and James Harden contributed 16 points each, securing the Clippers’ ninth win in 11 games.

Despite a spirited comeback by the Thunder, who briefly seized a 115-114 lead in the fourth quarter, George took control of the game’s closing moments. The dynamic scorer poured in 11 of the Clippers’ final 14 points, showcasing his offensive prowess.

George’s standout performance included six made 3-pointers, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals, and zero turnovers. The Clippers’ star proved instrumental in securing the win and maintaining their strong position in the Western Conference.

The Thunder, entering the matchup as the West’s No. 2 team, faced their second consecutive defeat despite impressive outings from Jalen Williams (25 points) and the duo of Lu Dort and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who contributed 19 points each.

The absence of Clippers center Ivica Zubac, sidelined with a right calf strain, did not hinder the team’s performance. Mason Plumlee, starting in Zubac’s place, made a notable impact with 14 points, contributing to the Clippers’ well-rounded victory.
