Milan bolsters EuroLeague ambitions with NBA veteran Rodney McGruder

EA7 Emporio Armani Milan has strengthened its EuroLeague roster with the acquisition of NBA veteran Rodney McGruder, securing his services until the culmination of the 2023-24 season.

The seasoned player, having spent seven years in the NBA, is set to make his EuroLeague debut, adding a wealth of experience to Milan’s lineup. McGruder’s most recent NBA stint was with the Detroit Pistons, where he averaged 5.7 points and 2.3 rebounds during the 2022-23 season.

McGruder, with a notable NBA career playing for the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, and the Detroit Pistons, brings a wealth of experience to Milan. With 317 regular-season games and nine playoff appearances under his belt, the 32-year-old forward is poised to make a seamless transition to EuroLeague competition.

While this marks McGruder’s EuroLeague debut, he previously played in Europe during the 2013-14 season, representing Hungarian side Atomeromu SE after his collegiate career at Kansas State University.

Currently positioned in 12th place in the EuroLeague standings with a record of 9 wins and 11 losses, Milan aims to leverage McGruder’s skills and experience to make a strong push in the second half of the season, solidifying their aspirations for success in the EuroLeague.
