Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving combine for 70 points as Mavericks’ rout Trail Blazers

Luka Doncic showcased his scoring prowess with 41 points, 30 of which came in the first half, while Kyrie Irving contributed 29 in his second game back from a heel injury, leading the Dallas Mavericks (20-15) to a commanding 126-97 victory over the struggling Portland Trail Blazers (9-24) on Wednesday night.

Shaedon Sharpe led the Trail Blazers with 16 points, and Anfernee Simons added 15, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Mavs’ offensive onslaught.

Despite the victory, the Mavericks faced setbacks in the second half as frontcourt players Dereck Lively II and Grant Williams suffered ankle injuries. Both were diagnosed with mild sprains, with further updates expected on their status.
