Outspoken UFC star Colby Covington has once again targeted Los Angeles Lakers icon LeBron James, accusing him of being “bought and paid for” by the establishment due to his political stances.
In an interview on The Tucker Carlson Encounter, Covington didn’t mince words, claiming that James, despite benefiting from the opportunities provided by America, “hates America” and disrespects the National Anthem.
“He hates America, the country that gave him billions of dollars,” Covington said. “He never stands up for America. He sits down during the National Anthem. They’re playing for the people that fought to protect this country and give us our freedom so we could have opportunities like LeBron. And there he is sitting for it, making a joke out of our National Anthem and all the families out there that have suffered because they lost some of their family members in war. And here is just making a mockery of them and just slapping them in the face.”
When asked by Carlson if James’ actions reflect his genuine views or if he’s following orders for financial gain, Covington didn’t hold back, asserting, “He’s bought and paid for by the establishment, a puppet to them.”
“You can tell he’s acting on behalf of someone else and he’s bought and paid for by the establishment and pretty much whatever they tell him to do, he’s just going to do that. He’s a puppet to them,” Covington said.
