Memphis Grizzlies’ star Ja Morant, recently returning from a 25-game suspension, remains steadfast in his inner circle, according to his father, Tee Morant.

In a recent interview on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Tee Morant candidly addressed queries about his son, dismissing rumors and emphasizing Ja’s commitment to family values.

When asked about potential changes in Ja’s inner circle, Tee Morant confidently stated, “We got the same circle.”

Tee Morant passionately defended his son against what he sees as public misconceptions, rejecting labels such as wanting to be a “gangster.” He painted a picture of Ja as a family-oriented individual, asserting, “This dude is gonna be a role model for a while.”

Challenging the narrative that success demands changing one’s circle, Tee Morant pointed out that Ja’s inner circle comprises “educated individuals” with defined roles.

Despite recent challenges, Tee Morant stressed, “Everybody knows their task. It was a bad decision. But it wasn’t a crime.”

In a thought-provoking segment, Tee Morant questioned the public narrative, asking, “What crime did he commit?” He delved into the scrutiny faced by Ja, advocating for fairness and pushing back against double standards.

When queried about Ja becoming the face of the league, Tee Morant asserted that Ja’s primary focus is winning championships for the Memphis Grizzlies. He challenged double standards, highlighting that others deemed faces of the league had committed more severe actions.
