In a swift change of leadership, Fenerbahce has named Sarunas Jasikevicius as the head coach through the 2025-26 season, replacing Dimitris Itoudis after his recent departure.
Jasikevicius, 47, a former EuroLeague champion player, will now guide Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, with the contract signing following a tumultuous period marked by the team’s 6-7 record and managerial decisions.
Having enjoyed a legendary playing career, Jasikevicius transitioned to coaching, notably leading Zalgiris Kaunas and later achieving success with FC Barcelona.
Jasikevicius’ coaching career includes a remarkable run with Zalgiris, where he steered the team to its first EuroLeague Playoffs in over 15 years and a historic Final Four qualification in the 2017-18 season.
Returning to FC Barcelona, Jasikevicius secured a first-place finish in the EuroLeague Regular Season and guided the team to consecutive Final Four appearances in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.
With a coaching record of 148-110 in 140 EuroLeague games, Jasikevicius ranks among the top coaches in the league this century.
Now, as Fenerbahce’s new head coach, Jasikevicius is set to make his debut against Monaco.
