Clippers secure close victory against Trail Blazers

The Los Angeles Clippers (12-10) managed to avoid an upset, defeating the short-handed Portland Trail Blazers (6-16) 132-127 on Monday night, extending their winning streak to four games.

Kawhi Leonard led the charge with an impressive 34 points, supported by contributions from James Harden with 20 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.

Paul George also had a strong performance with 20 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Ivica Zubac added 18 points.

Despite missing key players Deandre Ayton and Malcolm Brogdon due to right knee soreness, the Trail Blazers fought valiantly.

Anfernee Simons scored a career-high 38 points, making a perfect 13 free throws, and Shaedon Sharpe contributed 27 points. The Blazers made a season-high 19 3-pointers, with Simons and Sharpe showcasing their scoring prowess.

Portland showed resilience, taking their first lead of the fourth quarter at 121-120 after trailing by six. However, the Clippers responded with crucial plays, securing the win. Terance Mann’s free throws, a key score from George, and Leonard’s free throws sealed the victory for the Clippers.
