Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge with 30 points in just three quarters as the Oklahoma City Thunder (15-7) secured a resounding 134-120 victory over the struggling Utah Jazz (7-16) on Monday night.
Gilgeous-Alexander not only showcased his scoring prowess but also contributed seven assists, spearheading an efficient Thunder offense that shot an impressive 52% from the field and accumulated 35 assists.
Supporting Gilgeous-Alexander’s stellar performance, Josh Giddey recorded a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in just 24 minutes, proving to be a significant presence on the court.
Ousmane Dieng made a noteworthy impact off the bench, contributing a season-high 18 points on 6-for-7 shooting.
Chet Holmgren added 16 points and eight rebounds, solidifying the Thunder’s position with a convincing win that strengthens their hold on second place in the Western Conference standings.
For the Jazz, rookie Keyonte George stepped up with a season-best 30 points, showcasing his scoring ability in the absence of Lauri Markkanen, the team’s scoring leader, who missed his eighth consecutive game due to a strained left hamstring.
Despite strong performances from George, Collin Sexton (20 points), and Simone Fontecchio (19 points), the Jazz couldn’t overcome the Thunder’s dominance, especially in the third quarter.
