Nuggets hold off Hawks despite Bogdan Bogdanovic’s 40-point outburst

In a high-scoring clash, the Denver Nuggets (15-9) secured a 129-122 victory over the Atlanta Hawks (9-13), ending their three-game losing streak.

Jamal Murray led the charge for the Nuggets with an impressive 29-point performance, supported by Nikola Jokic’s 25 points.

Despite a remarkable display from Bogdan Bogdanovic, who set career highs with 40 points and 10 3-pointers, the Hawks suffered their fourth consecutive loss.

Bogdanovic’s late-game heroics included sinking three 3-pointers in the final two minutes, but the Nuggets managed to withstand Atlanta’s comeback attempt.

Rookie Julian Strawther stepped up for Denver, contributing a career-high 22 points, including six 3-pointers, and leading the game with five steals.

Aaron Gordon added 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Nuggets, helping secure the much-needed victory.

The Hawks faced challenges with Trae Young’s ejection in the third quarter, receiving two technical fouls for expressing frustration over a no-call on his drive.

The absence of Jalen Johnson and De’Andre Hunter due to injuries forced adjustments in the Hawks’ lineup, with Garrison Mathews making his first start of the season.

Despite the impressive long-range shooting of Bogdanovic and Dejounte Murray, the Nuggets, fueled by Strawther’s 13 second-quarter points, managed to take a narrow 65-62 lead at halftime.
