Rockets secure first road win by beating Nuggets

The Houston Rockets (10-9) clinched their first road victory of the season by defeating the Denver Nuggets (14-9) 114-106, with Jalen Green’s 26 points and Fred VanVleet’s 25 leading the charge.

The Rockets had previously faced road woes, losing their initial eight away games, but they handed the Nuggets their first home defeat in 10 games.

Despite Nikola Jokic’s 23 points and 16 rebounds for the Nuggets, his shooting struggles continued, going 9 for 26 from the field.

Alperen Sengun played a crucial role for the Rockets, contributing 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Dillon Brooks added 16 points to the winning effort.

Despite building a substantial 25-point lead in the fourth quarter, the Rockets faced a late scare as the Nuggets mounted a remarkable comeback, narrowing the gap to 103-96.

However, Houston sealed the win by scoring their final 11 points from the foul line, providing a sigh of relief for a team seeking confidence on the road.

Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. contributed 21 and 20 points, respectively, for the Nuggets, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Rockets’ determined performance.

This marks the Nuggets’ third consecutive loss, emphasizing their current challenges despite their strong start to the season.
