Chet Holmgren, Jaime Jaquez named Rookies of the Month

The NBA declared Thunder’s towering presence, Chet Holmgren, and Heat’s versatile wing, Jaime Jaquez, as the rookies of the month for the Western and Eastern Conferences, respectively.

The announcement, made via Twitter on Monday, encompasses performances from both October and November, considering the commencement of the 2023/24 season in late October.

Holmgren showcased his prowess by making a significant impact on various statistical fronts. Across 18 games in the past two months, he averaged an impressive 17.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.1 blocks.

His shooting percentages were equally noteworthy, with marks of .537 from the field, .410 from beyond the arc, and .871 from the free-throw line, all while logging an average of 30.0 minutes per game.

Jaquez seamlessly embraced a significant role in Miami’s rotation, making a notable impact. In his initial 19 games, including four starts, he averaged 12.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

Jaquez demonstrated efficiency with shooting percentages of .529 from the field, .390 from beyond the arc, and an impressive .875 from the free-throw line, all while maintaining an average playing time of 26.6 minutes.
