Lauri Markkanen, the Utah Jazz forward and first-time All-Star in the 2022/23 season, will be absent for the fifth consecutive game against Portland this Saturday due to a left hamstring strain.

Andy Larsen from The Salt Lake Tribune reports on Twitter that Markkanen is scheduled for reevaluation sometime next week.

The Utah team states that he is making continuous progress in his recovery. Markkanen, who earned the Most Improved Player award in the previous season, had an impressive breakout with the Jazz.

In the 2023/24 season, he’s maintained a strong performance, averaging 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game with efficient shooting percentages across 15 games.
