Marcus Smart, the guard for the Memphis Grizzlies, is set to be sidelined for three to five weeks due to a left foot sprain, as per the team’s official statement. The 29-year-old player joined the Grizzlies through a three-team trade with Boston and Washington during the offseason.
Smart, who earned the Defensive Player of the Year title in the 2021/22 season, has been contributing an average of 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game this season, playing 29.9 minutes per night and maintaining shooting percentages of .429/.295/.810 in 11 games.
